It is stressful being an early years provider, but spark will give you the control back, so all adults involved can strive for outstanding EYFS practice in order to get everything right, ultimately for every child at this time of rapid brain development.

sparkDIARY is a great way to share information that may be forgotten by the parent/carer on the journey home. It also leaves the collection time, to share and discuss other points, such as the child’s current interests, what progress is being made and leaves time to encourage parents to share too. Communicate to your parents on a weekly or daily basis, as pertinent to each child’s requirements.

  • sparkDIARY gives you the option to include everything or the parts you wish to use and offers quick ways to do it! No paper diaries/forms or journals to complete, so the focus of the educator is not on ‘paperwork’ but on the children.

  • ‘Sleep Checks’ can be documented on the establishment’s behalf (not shared) for health and safety purposes.

  • Send messages:
To every parent; maybe reminders to bring in a hat in cold weather or sun-cream.
For each child in a class/group; perhaps about the current learning topic or requests for items to borrow for the current phoneme.
For the child; such as, to arrange a meeting or to bring in more nappies/cream if these are not provided.

  • Show parents when their child has slept, had their nappy changed, what and how much they have eaten and drunk etc., during their day while with you.

  • Add the extra activities you have provided in the day/week the child has enjoyed.

  • The child’s physical care (naps, feeds, nappy changes etc) are available to be recalled and evaluated should there be a discrepancy or for quality control purposes along with a record of the diaries been sent.

  • sparkDIARY will go out in your own time-zone, each day at 6 pm or if weekly at 6 pm on a Friday. However, the time and the time on different days of the week can be personalised for each child.
