What is a learning journey in early years?
This is about recognising children’s progress; keeping examples of evidence to illustrate the learning and development.
This may be observations, photographs of achievements and experiences, artwork, children’s comments, interests, results of interventions … etc.
It is best practice to share the information with parents and better still for them to be encouraged to participate and add to the information.
A learning journey may be in a digital format or in a ‘scrapbook’ type format and is given to the parent at the end of the child’s time at the setting.
