It is the IMPLEMENTATION of meeting the child’s physical, emotional, learning and developmental needs of each unique individual – so there will be MANY holistic approaches to ensure that is realised. So, it is the methods you use to care for and teach the children. In our view, a child-centred approach is based upon professional expertise and the ethos of an aligned team. The EYFS provides a framework; it organises the components and sets the goals for children in the final year of Reception/before the academic year when they are five. Development Matters and Birth to Five Matters give guidance on learning and development to be achieved and the ways they could learn.
